Protocol for Communicating with Teachers

If you have a question that is relevant to the classroom, e.g., curriculum, student behaviour, first please contact the teacher preferably by email or by a phone call.

Remember that your child may share their perspective, but there is usually a classroom context that needs to be shared to understand what may or may not have occurred in class. We expect all conversations to be focused on student achievement and be respectful and purposeful in solving any learning issues.

Be aware that teachers are either teaching or managing ILIP, preparing lessons, working on school committees, coaching or fulfilling supervision duties throughout the day. Teachers are expected to return emails within a reasonable time frame to ensure student success.
